Sue is the media assistant to the Mayor of Waverley. She is also a member of the Administrative Committee of the Australian Labor Party (NSW Branch) and the Convenor of the History Group of the Australian Labor Party (NSW Branch).

Previously, she was the electorate officer for Ernie Page, who was a Member (Australian Labor Party) of the Parliament of New South Wales representing the electorate of Waverley and later the electorate of Coogee.
