Chris Gambian
Secretary of the Evatt FoundationChris has been an official with the Finance Sector Union since 1997, with responsibility for organising, training, communications, campaigning and bargaining. He currently heads up the Union’s NSW/ACT Communications and Resources Unit. Since 2003 Chris has organised the popular Struggles, Scabs & Schooners union history pub tour – a fun, though poignant, journey through working class struggle on a big bus with a sing-a-long and a beer. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Masters degree in Labour Law, is interested in human rights, environmental and economic justice issues, and is the Chair of the Powerhouse Youth Theatre in Fairfield and a member of the NSW Labor Party’s Finance & Economics policy committee. He was a contributor to the 1996 book edited by author John Marsden, “This I Believe” – an exploration of life’s big question by 100 eminent Australians and 1 angry university student. Chris joined the Evatt Foundation Executive in 2000, and was elected Secretary in November 2006.
