New books
The Tolpuddle Martyrs: Injustice within the law
The Evatt Foundation proudly presents a new edition of Herbert Vere Evatt's history of the Tolpuddle Martyrs.
Elegantly published by Sydney University Press with an insightful new introduction by Geoffrey Robertson QC, the book marks the 175 years since the transportation of the Martyrs to Australia. In presenting this account of one of the labour movement's founding legends, we also celebrate the 30 years since the establishment of the Evatt Foundation.
Launched by the Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG in NSW Parliament House on 9 December 2009, everyone associated with the labour movement will want this fine new work.
