Evatt Foundation dinner

Invitation

Evatt Foundation members and friends are invited to join the executive committee for dinner with Bruce Childs, Jeannette McHugh and Tom Uren.

At the 2006 AGM, Bruce Childs and Jeannette McHugh stepped down as the Foundation's President and Secretary respectively. While both remain executive members, their retirement as the Foundation's leading office holders brought a decade of secure, harmonious and progessive stewardship to its conclusion. Please join us for dinner to recognise and celebrate their outstanding leadership.

Tom Uren preceded Bruce Childs as the President of the Foundation. A former deputy leader of the Australian Labor Party, Labor's first environment spokesman, and a long-time activist for world peace who has been voted a National Living Treasure, he will talk about his new book, The Fight, co-authored with Martin Flanagan, making this a very special Evatt occasion.

The Evatt Foundation was established in 1979 as a memorial to Dr Herbert Vere Evatt with the aim of advancing the highest ideals of the labour movement. This is a night to enjoy, recognise and say thanks to three of the Foundation's guiding hands over the past two decades.

Please note, RSVP is essential as seating is limited.
