Nicole D’Souza is an experienced government, regulatory, employment and litigation lawyer and domestic and international human rights advocate who has worked in Australia, Hong Kong, London and Geneva, for government, non-profit and private sector organisations, including as a legal and industrial officer for a trade union and before the UN Human Rights Council. She is currently employed as the Ethical Sourcing Manager for the Australian subsidiary of a Japanese listed technology company, managing their Ethical Sourcing Program, promoting respect for human rights in business operations and supply chains. In 2017 she was a Highly Commended NSW Young Lawyer of the Year. She holds a BA (French and Int Relations)/LLB and an LLM, all from the University of Sydney, where she focused in particular on human rights, international and comparative law and international relations. Nicole is also a passionate supporter of the arts, having performed in a number of theatrical productions,and of building an active civil society and promoting diversity and inclusion. To this end, she has served as Vice President and Trustee of the Goan Association of NSW Inc over a number of years, as an Executive Councillor of NSW Young Lawyers, as Chair of the NSW Young Lawyers Human Rights Committee, as a member of the NSW Law Society's Human Rights Committee and of the Executive Council of the International Commission of Jurists Australia.
Nicole was elected to the Executive Committee in 2019 and was elected Secretary of the Evatt Foundation in 2020.
