Cecilia Anthony

Cecilia is a strategy and engagement expert who has spent the past two decades working with and for diverse communities for justice, rights and respect. At the core of her work ethic is the belief that all communities have a right to self-determination and to have their voices heard. She matches her skills in strategic planning, stakeholder relationship management, policy and campaign strategies and advocacy, with clear and measurable objectives and outcomes. 


Cecilia began her career as a trade union industrial officer and has undertaken roles as Senior Policy Advisor in the NSW Government, Principal Policy Officer with Aboriginal Affairs NSW specialising in employment and justice, and managing government relations for Australia Council for the Arts and National Congress of Australia's First Peoples. She was also an advisor to the former Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, responsible for the establishment of the National Apology Foundation.


As the leader of the consultancy DiverseWerks, Cecilia has led teams working on a range of issues including settlement services, suicide prevention, domestic and family violence, disability, government and NGO service provision for multicultural communities, organisational capacity building, cultural competency training and strategic planning. Cecilia is also currently the Co-Chair of the NSW Reconciliation Council and was elected to the Executive in 2018.
